Located in Austin, Texas, Circuit of the Americas (COTA) is internationally recognized for world-class motorsports, live entertainment, and major events, including the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix.
Now, COTA is expanding its entertainment offerings with the addition of COTALAND, a 30-acre theme park located within the venue’s 1,500-acre campus just outside downtown Austin. Featuring a mix of high-thrill roller coasters and family-friendly attractions, COTALAND introduces a new way for guests to experience the energy and excitement of this iconic destination.
At the heart of the guest arrival experience is a signature Fountain People entry fountain designed to make an immediate impression. The installation combines dynamic water movement, LED lighting, and choreographed effects to create an energetic focal point that welcomes guests as they enter the park.
The fountain features 16 Foam Jets arranged around a central sculptural element. Each jet is equipped with a fast-acting proportional flow control valve, allowing independent adjustments for varied spray heights, chases, and rapid transitions choreographed to music. Designed for maximum spray heights of 8 feet, the foaming nozzles create aerated, conical water effects.
Each jet features a ring-style RGBW LED fixture for 360-degree illumination and customizable colors, including white. 6 flush-mount, angle-adjustable FXPRO 72-watt RGBW LED underwater fixtures illuminate the central sculpture and can operate in coordination with the fountain lighting or independently. Supporting the display, the pump systems, filtration, water treatment and disconnect switches are housed in a dedicated equipment area. The main control panel and show controller are located indoors to help protect the equipment from environmental exposure and high temperatures.
At the center of the fountain stands a 15-foot bronze sculpture by artist Kai. Created to greet guests as they enter and leave the park, The Perfect Hug was inspired by a simple, unexpected moment that left a lasting impression. The sculpture adds an artistic and memorable element to the fountain, creating a distinctive centerpiece within the arrival experience.
COTALAND represents a new chapter for Circuit of The Americas, expanding the property beyond its roots in world-class motorsports and creating a destination designed to welcome guests year-round. Together, COTA and COTALAND offer an experience that feels distinctly Austin: energetic, adventurous, and centered around memorable experiences.
Fountain People is honored to contribute to this new chapter through the COTALAND entry fountain. The project showcases how water, lighting, and movement can transform an arrival space into an engaging guest experience and create a memorable first impression from the moment visitors walk through the gates.
