The Majestic Dancing Fountain Design at Grapevine Main Station: A Commemoration of History and Modernity

Project Overview

Grapevine Main Station, a remarkable $114 million collaborative project between the public and private sectors, beautifully integrates the town's railway heritage with contemporary conveniences. The development includes Peace Plaza, where the interactive dancing fountain is located, a European-style food hall, and a 120-room boutique hotel.

The Enchanting Peace Plaza Dancing Fountain

Covering a vast expanse of 38,000 square feet, Peace Plaza stands as a testament to tranquility and creativity. The plaza features an expansive interactive water feature adorned with 24 fountain nozzles. This fountain design creates a dancing fountain with dynamic water patterns illuminated by multicolored FX Pro-Series LED fountain lights. The plaza derives its name from the historic occasion when Sam Houston, President of the Republic of Texas, convened with leaders from ten American Indian nations to establish a significant peace treaty. Grapevine artist Linda Lewis has imaginatively captured this event on the Grapevine Prairie through her art installation. This public artwork showcases lifelike bronze sculptures of Sam Houston and the chiefs of the ten American Indian nations, symbolically united in a circular arrangement.

The Grandeur of the Rail Station and Observation Tower

The Rail Station, sprawling across 42,000 square feet, pays homage to the architectural style of 19th-century American rail stations. Remarkable features include intricate eaves and substantial overhangs reminiscent of that era. The station's exterior is adorned with four 12-foot diameter glass clocks, meticulously crafted by the century-old manufacturer, Electric Time Company. These clocks, reminiscent of welcoming signals from days of yore, lend a nostalgic charm to the building.

Dominating the scene is the awe-inspiring 150-foot Observation Tower. This tower provides an unobstructed 360-degree view of Grapevine and the sprawling DFW metroplex.

The Grand Debut of Grapevine Main Station

The long-awaited moment finally arrived as the splendid Grapevine Main Station, the new commuter rail hub of Historic Grapevine, officially opened its doors on April 24th, 2021. Situated at the crossroads of Main Street and Dallas Road, this station offers convenient access to the Downtown Historic District. Furthermore, it is conveniently adjacent to the Trinity Metro TEXRail platform, facilitating seamless travel between Grapevine Main Station, downtown Fort Worth, and the Dallas Fort Worth International (DFW) Airport.
